headphone tips
From style to size to functionality and features, when you’re shopping for a new set of headphones there are certain considerations to keep in mind. Choosing between wired & wireless pretty much boils down to a decision about which option is best for your lifestyle, how & where you use your headphones & what your budget is.
Wireless Headsets:
Best for working out in a gym or performing light or strenuous activities without having to worry about getting tangled up in wires.
Best for traveling if you're very concerned about blocking out noises surrounding you.
There are no cords or wires so they could be more comfortable to wear because of that.
Wireless headphones come in all shapes and sizes, from traditional earphones to neckband headphones to on-ear headphones.
Wired Headsets:
The preferred option for audiophiles or anyone who just wants to plug it in and go. Wired headsets have no batteries so they don't need to be charged. So if you're doing long walks or taking long plane flights, or if you just want one less thing in your life that needs charging, these are for you.
Best for those who are hard of hearing as they offer unsurpassed sound quality.
The cords/wires associated with wired headphones can be problematic at times. You'll need to wrap up your cords when you put them inside your bag or risk them getting tangled.
General Info:
Audio Quality: Wireless headphones generally have inferior audio quality compared to wired headphones, but this can depend on price range.
Battery Life: Wireless headphones are constrained by battery life, which will vary based on price range & the model you purchase. Wired headphones do not have battery life.
Portability: Both wired & wireless headphones are portable, but some may be more convenient to travel with than others based on their design (whether they fold, have a carrying case, etc.).
Compatibility: Wireless & wired headphones are both very compatible with most devices. Make sure your device is compatible before purchasing. Wired headphones usually work with any phone or device with a 3.5mm jack. Wireless headphones are normally compatible with any bluetooth-enabled device.
Price: Wireless headphones are normally more expensive than wired headphones, but again, this depends on your price range.
